Corporate Tax Solicitor
THE ROLE & TEAM
This is an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Tax Solicitor (3–6 PQE) to join Brabners’ growing corporate practice, providing commercially focused, transaction-led, corporate tax support across the firm. The role is closely aligned to corporate transactions but incorporates a broad range of advisory input, working closely with the Corporate Tax Partner and other on a wide range of tax matters.
You will sit within Brabners’ corporate department and support colleagues firmwide, with a particular emphasis on M&A and other corporate reorganisations and transactions, as well as the tax aspects of employment, real estate, share schemes and other corporate matters arising across the firm’s transactional and advisory work.
Brabners advises a broad and diverse client base across multiple sectors and this role supports colleagues across the firm, working closely with colleagues in the corporate, real estate and employment teams. While the role is primarily transaction-led it offers exposure to a wide variety of corporate and commercial tax matters, reflecting the integrated way in which the tax team supports the wider firm, and the opportunity to build strong internal relationships across practice areas.
The role can be based in London, Liverpool, Manchester or Leeds, with flexibility around base office. Some travel between Brabners’ offices may be required as part of the role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide corporate tax support on a wide range of corporate M&A and private equity transactions, including drafting and negotiating the tax covenant and the tax warranties, supporting related structuring and execution, and providing ad hoc tax advice arising from the transaction
Provide pragmatic, commercially focused tax input throughout the firm, including supporting real estate transactions, employment, corporate and share scheme matters where relevant
Work closely with Partners and senior lawyers to ensure consistent, high‑quality delivery, taking initiative and working independently on day-to-day matters, while escalating issues as appropriate
Contribute to internal and external knowledge sharing, precedents and best practice
Support the development of Brabners’ corporate tax offering
ABOUT YOU
Qualified Corporate Tax Solicitor with 3–6 years’ PQE
Experience gained within private practice, with sufficient exposure to corporate transactions
Strong drafting and negotiation skills, particularly around the tax covenant and tax warranties
Commercially minded with a practical, solutions‑focused approach
Able to work independently, showing initiative and sound judgment, while seeking guidance and support where appropriate
Well organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a deal‑driven environment
Confident communicator who can build effective internal relationships and support client relationships
A team player who enjoys working closely with colleagues at all levels across multiple practice areas
Membership of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (or similar) is advantageous but not essential
Motivated to develop within Brabners and contribute to the long‑term growth of the corporate tax practice
