Paralegal - Regulatory & Professional Conduct
We have an opportunity for a hard-working paralegal to join our growing Regulatory & Professional Conduct Team to work on our TRA (Teaching Regulation Agency) contract.
The TRA is an executive agency of the Department for Education and is tasked with considering allegations of serious professional misconduct by teachers. We are contracted to work on the investigation of serious allegations and the presentation of cases to panel hearings.
What we need from you
✔ Strong organisational and communication skills, written and verbal.
✔ Excellent attention to detail
✔ Ability to work as part of a team and be willing to work independently where required (with appropriate level of supervision as needed).
✔ Experience in professional discipline/misconduct or contentious regulatory/ criminal law would be welcomed but is not essential.
What you'll be doing
- Handling a caseload of teacher misconduct cases, from referral to panel decision, working with supervision of solicitors
- Preparing case strategies
- Drafting letters and correspondence, bundling and undertaking research.
- Gathering evidence, drafting witness statements, corresponding with third parties.
- Instructing counsel and hearing preparation.
- Filing and document management.
- Working to KPIs.
