Trust Manager – Private Client – Flexible location
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Trust Manager to join our well-respected Private Client team.
Our award-winning Private Client & Charity group is one of the largest in the Northwest. The team was awarded the ‘Private Client Award’ at the 2017 & 2019 Liverpool Law Society Legal Awards. The team has a Tier 1 ranking in the Legal 500 and Chambers Private Wealth Law.
The team work with a wide range of High-Net-Worth individuals, families, business owners, elderly clients and Landed estates dealing with complex private client matters including wills and probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney, trusts, Capital Gains tax and estate planning. The team are the go-to trusted advisor for clients and contacts alike.
About the role
Due to the continued growth of the team, we are looking to recruit an experienced Trust Manager to lead the day-to-day management of a complex portfolio of trusts, working closely with clients, advisors, and internal stakeholders. The Trust Manager will play a key role in delivering bespoke solutions across estate planning, tax efficiency, succession strategies and will be responsible for ensuring all trust accounts are accurate and up to date.
Given the nature of the role, we are open to discussing flexible and remote working options and would consider candidates looking to work a 4-day week.
What we are looking for
- Considerable experience of trust administration, with strong technical knowledge of trust law and tax implications.
- Experience of preparing Trust Accounts, Trust and Estate Returns.
- Experience in preparing Inheritance Tax returns to report exits and periodic charges.
- Understanding of the taxation of trusts (IHT, CGT and Income Tax).
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills and have a client focused approach.
- As the team grows, there will be potential opportunity to manage a small team, therefore team management experience would be advantageous but not essential.
We will consider candidates who are currently in a Trust Administration role, looking for a career development opportunity.
